About Bodoland Development Foundation (BDF)
Born out of hope, resilience, and a shared vision for progress, the Bodoland Development Foundation (BDF) was established on 16 August 2021 as a Section 8 Company under the Companies Act, 2013. Founded by a group of like-minded professionals from diverse backgrounds, BDF stands for a singular mission —
“Building a self-reliant, sustainable, and dignified society in Bodoland.”
Our Story: From Conflict to Change
The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in Assam has endured over three decades of socio-political unrest, affecting the lives of more than 3.5 million people. Years of conflict disrupted livelihoods, fractured communities, and slowed development.
Even after peace was restored, challenges such as poverty, unemployment, limited access to education, and lack of basic services continued to impact the region.
The Bodoland Development Foundation emerged as a beacon of transformation, committed to rewriting this story. We focus on empowering marginalized communities, women, and youth — helping them rebuild lives through education, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihood programs.
Today, BDF continues its journey of peacebuilding and inclusive growth, ensuring that Bodoland rises not in despair, but in dignity, unity, and self-reliance.
